In Lynda's Own Words

"I have been very fortunate to have had wonderful teachers throughout my life. I loved my music lessons as a child and strive to make lessons enjoyable for my students. With forty five years of experience as a music educator, I have an extensive teaching history including public and private schools, summer camps, children's theater, arts and crafts, and private piano and accordion lessons for children and adults.

Over the years I have performed in concert bands, orchestras, woodwind ensembles, accordion orchestras, and choruses. I'm a member of the Accordion Teachers Guild International, and have received five Massachusetts Arts Council grants. The award I am most proud of is the North Attleboro Cultural Council's McKeil Award for contributions to the local arts community.

In 2014, I founded the Keys! Music Challenge for Kids, an educational and instructional festival and competition for music students. The first event, a piano challenge, was held May 3, 2014. The event went virtual during the pandemic and has just finished its seventh year with 105 entries from around the US.

When I'm not teaching kids music or art, I can often be seen around New England playing accordion with the Jolly Koppershmidts German Band or thr Lustige Streifenhornchens Oktoberfest Band. "
